I will be visiting the US in August and would like to take a week off work and ride from LA to Chicago. So I need to hire a bike, preferably a BMW, and preferably a one way hire. JayW Posted June 19, 2010 Share Posted June 19, 2010 I am looking into renting a bike in Colorado from EagleRider for 5 days for the annual tour I take with my Dad. I do not have the time to ride my own bike out there. EagleRider has nationwide outlets and that may work well for you. However, I am unhappy with the price. Daily rental of an RT is about $165, but then they require that you buy their insurance ($20/day), there is a processing fee, daily "road safety fee" and about 12% in taxes. Aaargh! I may end up shipping my own RT out there instead for less money. OTOH, they have special deals for bikes that need to be relocated. For example, they need to move an R1200RT from Jackson Hole WY out East and rental on that bike is only $29/day (plus fees, etc). They have a whole list of such special deals at their web site, so you may want to investigate that option. Good luck. Jay Link to comment
