2002 R1150RT

My '02 1150RT has a miss/jerk which is very regular, 2-4 seconds, and very noticeable at 3000-4000 and present but less noticed on hiway. I bought this bike about 1000 miles ago and it now has 31000. Not happy with bike not running smooth as silk. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Tom

It seems like the typical dreaded 'surge'. I would suggest if it is very bothersome, just pull out the Cat Code plug. It should run smoother then.

 

(BTW, it's a boxer it never will run like silk.)
