FLrider
I have a titan silver bike and a year or so ago I bought a 42liter topcase off a private party. The topcase was the same color (titan silver) but it's finish was dull, not glossy like the factory paint. If I shoot it with some clear coat, will it look like the factory paint or will I just have a dull finish that shines ? Link to comment
Tony_K
Does it shine (or sort of match your bikes finish) when it is wet? If so, clear will work. Base coat is always dull. It's the clear that puts the shine on. Link to comment
johnlt
I went and had the topcase "painted" the same silver. I think the actual "color" was the same so the clear made the difference. Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
I have extra mirros for my RT which is a metalic silver. I purchased paint cans from an automotive paint store to repaint the mirrors. I had them match my bike color and put it in a spray can and then purchased a factory brand clear coat from the same place. The mirrors are a perfect match. The difference between th Duplicolor paint and the paint store brand is Duplicolor seemed to be thinner and would run easier. Also the paint store's paint cost twice as much but was worth it.
