Zumo 550 + Ram mount

Ok, I did multiple searchs on the forums for Zumo 550 and Ram Mount for my 1200 RT and there are hundreds of articles but I was not able to find an answer for my specific needs (Quick prologue as to make sure that you all know that I tried!) I just bought a Zumo 550 (yeah!), it comes included with a few kits from ram-mount and using the wizard of garmin site (or ram-mount), it tells me that the little kit (square plate + ball) should work for my 1200 RT. Well, I can't figure out how this would work by itself so I started looking ONLINE.. I am really not interested in a shelf because I will NEVER mount anything else than the Zumo but I need something to install the Zumo simply and inexpensively... Any suggestions? Thanks Gerard

This RAM mount easily mounts on the RT.

The benifit is very simple removal of the Zumo mount.

 

I simply added a power plug to the supplied base that plugs into the bikes front aux power outlet.
