frenchwv
I am planning a stop at Glacier NP the second week of October. I have no clue about the weather in Montana. Should I be concerned about adverse conditions along the Going-to-the-Sun Road? Will I be stuck just stopping by the Visitor's Center and moving on? Link to comment
BluegrassPicker
I was there the first week of September last year and they closed the road (maybe for the season) as I was riding up it from the west. Link to comment
rad
I have done that ride in early October. I had no snow but had most everything else, sun, cold, rain, wind, fierce lightening, and even early morning ice on the shaded passes. You can have nasty weather, including snow, any time of year at elevation in the Rockies. The later in the year, odds increase for rough weather, go prepared and be willing to readjust your route plans if necessary. Have fun Link to comment
