Unusual tire wear

After returning from Torrey, I was inspecting my tires because they are nearly in need of replacement. These are PR-2s with 9K miles. Prior to leaving for Torrey, I had an "even" 3mm of tire depth to the wear bars. I rode about 1800 miles and now still have nearly 3mm to the inside (center) but only 1mm to the outside of the tire. I've never seen this kind of wear on a rear tire. Could it be the inside is the harder compound and the outside is softer and with Torrey's rough roads and many twisties, it wore mosly the outside. The Pilot Road 2 is a dual compound tire with the center harder than the sides. You simply had too much fun! Besides with 9K miles from a tire you have nothing to complain about...

Sounds normal enough to me.... this is a set with half your mileage.
