Zumo 550

I have a Zumo 550. I frequently use the left-hand hard buttons to flip through MP3 selections.

Yesterday, when I got home from a ride, I noticed my ‘-‘ rubber button was gone, leaving the hard button unusable and the printed circuit board/micro switch exposed to the elements.

 

 

 

The rubber membrane must have worn/eroded around the button and broken off.

 

So this does not happen to others, I would suggest the following:

1) Treat the rubber to some “armor all” like product, and

2) Inspect your buttons for cracks. If you see cracks try using “goop” to seal the crack/rot.

I had my power button come off like that. I had found a rubber plug the same size that fit tight and was going to use that. On the zumo Forum I found the link below were you can by a demo Zumo and order one and replace the case. It was only

$20.00 alot less than $150.00 send it to Garmin. Email or call and ask about the demo cases they are not list on the web sit.

The cases are not listed on thier site. You need to email and ask about the case or call them. The email tha comes back will have the cost which when I did mine was $20.00. It will also till you how to order.
