Jerry in Monument
Ok, so now I've discovered that this RT has Hyperlites, but they are not working. I'm not 100% sure if they were working when I first got it, but I think they were. I may have jiggled something loose when I removed the left tupperware to look at the mystery com system and how it's connected to the stereo. Is the left side where most folks connect Hyperlites? It looked like that is where the main wiring harness is. I cannot find where the Hyperlites wires go once the disappear under the taillight. Link to comment
eddd
Under the passenger seat, at the very back of the storage area, you'll see two plastic wingnuts. Unscrew those and the tailight assembly will come off. This is the most common area to tie additional lights into the system. Link to comment
Jerry in Monument
AH HA! I have removed the taillight assembly and as you dais, it's all in there. The Hyperlites control unit has brown, blue, gray and green wires coming out. The green barely shown a loop outside the shrink tubing. Blue is joined with the blues from the Hyperlites. Brown from the control is disconnected hanging loose. Browns from the Hyperlites are connected to the running light of the taillight. The connection seems to be less than optimal. Gray from the Hyperlite control unit is connected to the brake lamp. If I touch the brown control wire to the running light post, only one Hyperlight falshes but only when I press the foot brake. I can't reach the front brake to see what happens, if anything. Maybe one of the Hyperlites is dead? Where should the brown wire be connected? I'm assuming this was set up as a braking/Running system. Link to comment
ltljohn
Look Here for the wiring to the hyperlights Link to comment
Jerry in Monument
Thanks ltljohn, I have looked at that, but maybe I'm missing the connections. The bikes wiring harness has gray, brown and gray/black. The Hyperlites have brown, blue and gray. I don't have black, red or yellow. Sorry if I'm missing it. Link to comment
Jerry in Monument
So far I am less than impressed with Hyperlites support. I emailed and called (left message) last Monday. I received an auto-reply email stating they would 'try' to answer my email within the week. Link to comment
