SinNH
It seems like many use the 8500x50 and like it. How about the cordless Solo ? Anyone use one ? thx Link to comment
bobbybob
Don't have one but I *think* the Solo does not have an audio output jack for running thru an Autocom/etc so you have to rely on looking at it at the right time to be warned. That would never work for me--I can't ever recall looking at my 8500 before I heard a warning. Personally I wouldn't want to deal with replacing batteries all the time. Link to comment
DFWBo
I have both....Solo does have audio jack....I use both...the 8500 is a tad more sensitive. Both work great. Link to comment
bobbybob
How long do you get from a set of batteries on the Solo? Nothing mentioned on the website. Link to comment
JimD
I use the Lithium AA Batteries in mine and they last for weeks. I always carry an extra set just in case, but under normal riding I have really been surprised at how long they last. Link to comment
SinNH
Thanks--one again unlimited info on this board I was thinking Solo because it would be simple to move from bike to bike. You guys run them in your tank bag ? Link to comment
eddd
I have the 8500 in my tankbag. It works well, and is completely out of sight. Link to comment
DFWBo
I put them on my BMR shelf. Get a couple of weeks minimum out of batteries. Also run it on a power cord when I remember to bring it. I have a coax female jack in my dash Link to comment
