R1200RT (K12, R12R etc) City skinny lids

I've found a UK supplier of the thinner skinny or "city" lids for the R1200 type panniers.

They are made by a Dutch company I beleive but the UK inporter is...

I picked up a pair from them yesterday. Contact details on the link.

No affiliation etc etc....

Just pleased I could find some after all this time & I know others have been looking as BMW don't make them for the 12's

They fit very well and seem strong enough. They'll be used daily and I fully expect them to last.

Interesting. If you go to the other link, halfway down the page in the left column there's a link to the city lids which leads to this page

http://www.nedplex.com/city-lids-r1200rt,us,4,R1200rtlids.cfm

There it's $340.21 USD. I don't read Dutch so not sure what's the difference between the two pages. Lot of $ either way for a thinner cover.

I would think that for the $205 you get one lid, as it asks left or right, and for the $340 you get the pair as it does not ask for which side.

Stock regular bags are in competition for the ugliest item ever put on a bike by a manufacturer who is still in business.

I keep mine at the bottom of a closet so no one will see them. Till I need them for serious traveling to substitute for my city lidded bags.

Easiest, if not cheapest, is to have two sets of bags.

glorious aboriginal summer weather in Toronto; passed through Belfountain* this afternoon with my sweetie (both my sweeties)... couple of Airheads parked there, as always.

*like the Rock Store
