New Shoei Multitec 2 ?

I have a Shoei Multitec which I used for about one year and a half before replacing it with an OGK Kabuto FF5V.

I have made my complaints about that helmet very clear to Shoei which, curiously enough, were exactly the same filed by the local police department which also uses Multitec's.

The complete lack of ventilation in the back turns the helmet into a veritable sweatbox in even mild temperatures.

The liner is not only not-removable (a huge no on modular helmets) but the material used is absolutely inferior to Drytec and other similar materials used by Arai, Nolan, OGK Kabuto etc.

For an helmet which has a top price these are major faults.

Truth to be told Shoei addressed both issues on the Japan-only model, which has both a removable lining and a sophisticated rear venting system derived from the X-Twelve racing helmet but neither feature made its way to us gaijin.

I really hope these features get introduced on the new version because otherwise the Multitec is an extremely well put together helmet, very solid and with top level finish.
