k9gromit
I've got a Wolfman Denali that I've had for some time on my Dakar and am heading out to pick up my RT in a couple of weeks. The Denali has been superceded by the Ranier but they are close enough so if someone has experience with the Ranier, it would translate. Just curious if it is going to fit well enough to use for the ride home. I ordered a couple of universal straps (needed spares anyway as the Dakar's were getting pretty worn). Any tips? SinNH
I've been using the Ranier for a few years on the RT,works fine.I'd say it would ok on any machine with a sloped good sized fuel tank. It fits my KLR great too. FYI, I mounted the two front straps to the tank using the two small (5mm?) hex bolts that are about three inches on each side of the head bearing. Never found out what the two bolts are actually supposed to be for. Link to comment
johnlt
Here's one mounted on the R1200RT OEM baseplate that just snaps into place. Those baseplates are hard to find however and can be costly. Link to comment
k9gromit
Thanks. Looks like it will work. The baseplate makes for a very nice package but I can't imagine I'd be lucky enough to find one. Link to comment
