Bar End Weights

An article in the January 2012 BMW Owners News caught my attention. It was a written about adjustments made to improve comfort to a 2010 R1200RT. Having had issues in the past with my wrist I was interested to see that the author had added heavy bar end weights from Manic Salamander which he indicated made a significant improvement in vibration. Anyone have experience with replacing the standard bar ends with ones which weigh more and is there truly a noticeable difference? Thanks in advance.

Yes but, not on a beemer. Did it on a dirt bike or quad. Lead bar in the ends.

It is physics based since the natural frequency of an item is directly related to mass and stiffness.

I've had/have HVMP bar end weights on my 05 1200RT for over six yrs now and they are very effective.

+1 on the HVMP weights, I've had them on my 07 RT for over four years.

Another thing that reduced vibration in the bars was a pair of grip puppies
