Changing tires

I hope I'm in the right forum.....anyway, the instructions I have for changing tires (IBMWR) says to locate the yellow dot at the stem. The PR2s don't seem to have a dot. Do they use another method? (the continuing education of old Red)

Morning RAMBLIN RED

Some of the newer motorcycle tires don't have a mounting dot on them. The PR2 & PR3 seems to be one of those tires.

Some of the M/C tire manufacturers say they don't put the dots on anymore because they CLAIM the tires are so perfect they aren't needed.

Personally I have a different opinion on why they don't put the dots on but that really doesn't matter as there are no mounting dots on some tires & we have to live with that no matter the reason.

The dot indicates what is supposed to be the lightest point in the tyre. In my long relationship with Michelin (going back to 1993) I have never seen one of their tyres thus marked. From my experience it really doesn't matter where you mount their tyres: just slap it on the rim and balance it.
