TownPlanner
I am just having the side bags for my 2006 RT repainted and interested in using the side bag protectors to avoid this expense again. I am interested in whether anyone has any experience with http://www.thetankslapper.biz/? They look pretty interesting. Link to comment
12R12RT
I have used their 3M kits on my RT (total kit) and on my KLR. Very satisfied with both the product and with the company. The owner rides an RT... Tom Link to comment
Trojan
Morning TownPlanner. Here's my $0.02: Recently put the tankslapper tops on my '09 RT sidecases to avoid boot scuffs, particularly from the occasional two-up mounting & dismounting. Cheap, very easy application, and they won't be noticed - literally can't see them from more than a few feet, and won't see them even up close without inspection. Hasn't shown any tendency to "peel off." I didn't, and won't, bother with a full application. In the most gentle non-moving driveway laydown, they might protect some on the side of the sidecases - though even then I suspect there would be a little scratching. On the other hand, bugs, boot scuffs, scuffs from fairly abrasive cordura overpants, they'll easily protect from that stuff. John Link to comment
Exploreinman
I've had this product on my '05 RT since I bought the bike new and it works flawlessly. Link to comment
