Dean Wirsing Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Hi, Moving my GPS from the handlebar to the Migsel mount. I have barbacks on the handlebars, probably about 1" up and back. Since I'm removing the handlebar bracket which held the Garmin cradle, I need to get some shorter inner bolts for the handlebars. Do the dealers sell these in various lengths? Or do I need to order from a bolt manufacturer? I bought this bike used, PO had several bolts (including the 8 original bolts used before the bar backs were installed), but I don't think I have the proper length. I tried a search here, but not much luck. Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Dean Link to comment
Chris K Posted August 23, 2012 Share Posted August 23, 2012 Dean - According to the BMW parts fiche for the '07RT the short screw is M8x30mm and the longer is M8x40. Any good hardware store should carry them. Link to comment

Most bar backs bolt to the top triple tree using their own 4 bolts in recessed pockets then the handle bars bolt to the bar backs using the stock BMW attachment bolts. Link to comment
