Has anyone installed ISBM72 on an 06 1200RT

Hello All,

 

I did find quite a bit of info here. A very detailed account of adding a bmw ipod adapter to an 1200RT. It appears that adapter is becoming very hard to find and replaced by several newer parts some of which dont work with the motercycle version of the bmw 3-series stereo. I was curious if any one tried this ISimple adapter(ISBM72)? I got it coming from Amazon for $78. Seems only thing I would lose is the function of the CD player which is fine with me as it skips so much I find it to be useless anyway. I am currently using a mp3 player via a bmw aux in cable that I installed. It works well except I dont like having to use a booster inline to be able to hear MP3s? And then still have to have volume on oem stereo maxed out. I would be awesome if all I have to do unplug CD and plug this unit into it factory harness? I would gladly figure a way to use the space currently being taken up by CD unit? Maybe install the orgional compartment for the non stereo equipted RT?

 

Sure would appreciate any thoughts?
