KER Posted May 16, 2013 Share Posted May 16, 2013 we have about a dozen RTPs we need to get spare keys made for, I have all the key blanks but need to get them copied. Im assuming that I need to get them copied at a bmw dealer, or can a regular locksmith make them? Link to comment

biometrics Posted May 16, 2013 Share Posted May 16, 2013 Same here, my local locksmith had compatible keys that were all metal instead of having the rubber top that wears out... Cost per key was less than $2.50 including the duplication... Link to comment
dirtrider Posted May 16, 2013 Share Posted May 16, 2013 Morning KER On the 1100/1150RT's no problems (just standard keys). On the 1200RT's those are dealer only keys as they have electronic immobilize pellets in the key. (they are expensive also) You will need to take your vehicle title to the dealer with you on the 1200RT as those keys are regulated. Link to comment
