Steve Kolenda
Looking to replace the standard turn signal bulbs on my 2011 R1200RT with LED canbus error free bulbs. I see several different ones available. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks in advance. Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon Steve Most LED bulbs have directional light output (unlike general radiated light from an incandescent bulb) so be sure get bulbs that face the LED's in the correct direction or the light output could be very poor in the sun light. The LED color should also match the lens color (unless the lens is clear). Some LED's do OK & others are very difficult to see in direct sun light. Link to comment
Steve Kolenda
dirtrider, The bulbs that I have come across have LED's on the end and around the perimeter. Not sure of the brightness of these reflecting of the reflector. I was hoping to find someone who had tried them. Some of today's LED's are extremely bright but the directional light is certainly a concern. Link to comment
RedMac
I tried some in mine and had complaints from people behind me that they could not see my turn signals. Went back to normal bulbs... Link to comment
Steve Kolenda
Mike, Thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for more visibility not less so I guess I will leave things as they are. Link to comment
