flat_twin
I've used Nikwax products on my Roadcrafter suit and been happy with the results. Has anyone ever used Nikwax on anything else? I'm considering using it on this 40 year old canvas tent. I picked it up at a yard sale this weekend for $20. No damage anywhere and all the parts are there. It was a little dirty so I cleaned it with a weak solution of Woolite and a sponge. Then I lightly hosed it all off. Despite the hose treatment it only leaked a bit near the zipper which is also where it was the dirtiest and received the most attention. I'll let it dry for a couple days but I'd like to re treat it with Nikwax or something while it's clean and before I actually use it later this fall. Any ideas? It's a Hettrick tent Link to comment
DiggerJim
Try McNett's ReviveX - you can get it here at Amazon. It maintains the breathability such as it is of the canvas. Also treat the seams with seam sealer or silicone mixed with some naphtha (same white gas used in camp stoves) to make it liquid enough to paint on the seams. Link to comment
