Shiny Side Up
My faithful heat gun gave up the ghost this afternoon so I'm in the market... Any suggestions from the forum members? Link to comment
FlyingFinn
I have one of these for electrical work For less precise mechanical work I just use a cheap 1500W heat gun from Harbor Freight. It was cheap and it works. Mikko Link to comment
Guest Kakugo
Which temperature range do you need? The Makita HG651CK is an excellent product and covers the 80-650°C (180-1200F) range. Link to comment

EddyQ
I don't use a heat gun very often so I got a Black & Decker paint strip gun. It has two heat settings and works well with shrink tubing. Link to comment

Terry This thing is old - a hand me down of poor quality - BUT it was free and did what I needed it to do. Only had one setting - ON!! All - Thanks for the suggestions - on my way to Harbor Freight! lkchris
Harbor Freight? Be sure to wear breathing protection, as those stores stink. You're not having enough fun--all my power tools are AEG, Bosch, Fein, Metabo, i.e. German brands like my motorcycles. Have a Dremel as well, a Bosch brand. Heat gun is Metabo. Link to comment
