AndyS
Does anyone know if there is a forum dedicated to using the Garmin 590LM? If not, any other good resources? Link to comment
marcopolo
Go to ADVRider.com and and try the "Layin' Down Tracks" forum. There's a long thread there on the Zumo 590. It starts right from when the unit was announced. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=966727 Link to comment
AndyS
Thanks. That is a good lead to follow. One issue I am trying to get to the bottom of is if you can use some temperature sender with the unit. If so, what! Link to comment
Stan Walker
One issue I am trying to get to the bottom of is if you can use some temperature sender with the unit. Hi AndyS Short answer. I don't know of any way to get local air temperature info into the 590. Longer answer for us in the states. There is an ap that runs on the iPhone that allows the 590 to access and display weather info. The info is updated every 5 minutes on the screen. It works fairly well, but does require you to have cell phone coverage, not always available on back roads. As to temperature info I use a separate sensor and display mounted into that little hole in the panel intended for a radio display. Link to DROK display. The unit displays air temperature, TOD, and battery voltage. It's been modified to convert the TOD function into a runtime timer, and to be waterproof. Stan Link to comment
