No GS stuff please,

Show me your soft saddlebag setup on your midrange dual sport bike.

Doing a trip in the desert multiple days out and need some added storage. Not interested in hard cases with added framework. Light and simple.

Thanks in advance.

Afternoon MB

I don't like hard bags either for hard/fast off-road riding so use a multitude of roll-top dry sacks.

Most of my off-roading dry bags were made, or designed for, Kayaking so they are waterproof to about 3 meters & have lash-down loops on their sides.

For shorter overnight trips I usually use a single "Advanced Elements" Cargo Deck Bag (it has great tie down loops)

For longer trips or weekend camping (way back) away from civilization I use a combination of Kayaking drysacks. (I like the SealLine for cost vs toughness & usfulness. They come in verious sizes so you will need to size to your needs.

I use Hefty bags inside the roll-top bags to separate wet-tent, from dirty underwear, from clean stuff.

If you have a good outfitter type Kayaking shop in your area (or on-line) that type of bag lends itself well to off-road, hard riding, dusty, water crossing type off-road adventure packing.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of a loaded bike to show you.

The top 3 are current favorites in the ADVRider community.

Last is the system I bought for my GSA,but is not GS specific and fits a variety of bikes.

All are bigger bag setups for multi day trips.

Wolfman Expedition Bags on Tourtech racks. I used the same bags on my DRZ with Wolfman racks for many many off-road miles. No leaks.

So when are we going to the desert?

I also use these Giant Loop Coyote bags for my single day riding.

I've used these Giant Loop dry bags by themselves a time or two also.

Check out the "Find Your Bike" link at Happy Trail. They're known for their aluminum panniers, but they sell a lot more stuff, and have a section that show you what works on your bike. Adventure Designs has a lot of stuff, too.

I got a Wolfman Enduro tank bag for my KLX250S, and I have to say it's a really solid piece of kit. Very well made. Wolfman makes a couple of sets of small saddlebags for DS bikes that can be used without adding saddlebag frames, and I've seen good reviews of them on a KLX forum. A forum specific to the DS bike you're riding might be a good source of info.

You said 'no GS stuff". ;^)

I like the Alaska bag by Chase Harper. It is cavernous, collapsible, and inexpensive. I can get a week's worth of stuff in it, including my camp. Once camp is set it can be cinched down to just hold essentials.

For a more roady trip I like Nelson Riggs' CL 850s. Usually without the Alaska.
