drswift Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 I bought another used 1150RT that came all tricked out with a bunch of farkles including an expensive Laser exhaust system. The only problem is that it is so loud my wife won't ride on it and my riding buddies complain that I sound like a Harley. So, I'm looking for suggestions for a replacement, one that is as quiet as a stock muffler system. Suggestions please. (Ear plugs for the wife didn't work.) Link to comment
Tri750 Posted December 23, 2014 Share Posted December 23, 2014 The Remus system with the insert intact is pretty quiet. The problem can be California CARB. They have really cracked down on aftermarket exhausts within the last year or so. You may have a problem buying one in Cali. Try getting ahold of Max Moto near Emeryville to get the latest info. Maxmoto.com You could also look for a good stock system on ebay. I was offered a free slip on for my RT back then, the wife said no way. All my other bikes are loud, she wanted the RT quiet. I like quiet as well for the RT. Link to comment
