Tire Life-Mileage vs Age

As I get older, I seem to be riding less. So, my tires age more than accumulate miles. What's the opinion on how many years to keep a tire on a bike?

My personal opinion is USE COMMON SENSE, up until a few years ago there was no real tire age recommendation other than look them over before riding.

I still use that "look them over" plus the common sense thing & have had no tire issues.

Personally I think nothing of riding triple digits on 10 year old tires as long as they aren't losing air, or have cracking starting to show, or have some sort of rubber delamination issue.

To me, how tires are stored, has more to do with longevity than age. Direct sunlight, ozone, some, pool chemicals can effect tire life more than a time period does.

Or, if a rider the worrying type, then just replace them when the worry overcomes the tire looks or age.
