Boomer343 Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 When I did my transmission I checked the shaft height before and after and it was within spec using the existing shims. I compared new to old bearings and my measuring tools, technique and eyesight could detect no difference. One thing I would suggest is to give any shaft that didn't have new bearings put onto it a gentle tap to be sure that the bearings didn't move on the shaft while the transmission was being split.
