CheeseheadInFlatland
I need the opinion of others. I have an idea of possibly modifying the bracket of these arm rests to mount to the sides of my Shad SH45 case. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ADD-ON-18673-818K-PASSENGER-ARMRESTS-GL1800-GOLDWING-2001-2016-/151848635218?hash=item235ae24b52:g:sEMAAOSw0e9UypfX&vxp=mtr My thought is either bending the mounting brackets to fit the contour of the topcase or making something of wood that would fit the case on one side and be flat for mounting the arm rest on the other side. Anyone ever try this? Am I crazy or wasting my time? Link to comment
Chris K
That looks like a lot of weight and stress to put on a plastic topcase. Minimum you would need another metal plate for the inside too. Link to comment
tallman
I'd be more tempted to do something with these back rest/arm rests and find a way to mount the topcase to it. Putting stress on the top case itself would be a no go, IMO. Welcome. Link to comment
CheeseheadInFlatland
Thanks for the input. I agree, the load would need to be spread out or the plastic likely couldn't handle it. Tallman, I like your idea but I'm trying to cut cost if possible. Link to comment
