mos
The sidewalls of my tires are brown. I want to CLEAN them , not just put some dressing on them . Any Ideas ? Thanks Link to comment
lkraus
If the brown is dirt, water and a scrub brush will work. If they remain brown, the brown is oxidized rubber - might be time for new tires regardless of the remaining tread. If you just want them to look black, you are back to the dressing of your choice. dirtrider
Evening mos You might try Westley's Bleche-White, that stuff works wonders for cleaning up nasty tires. Link to comment
TripleThreat
+1 on the Westley's - That stuff rocks! Link to comment
Knobby10
Yup-- Westley's for sure. Wet tire first, spray on let sit hose off Link to comment
EddyQ
Westley's cleans the rims rather well too. A small brush often helps. Give it a good rinse afterwards and your tires/rims will be oil/grime/dirt free. Been using it for many years with no issues. Link to comment
Stbell
Wesleys bleach white is awesome at cleaning tires and rims. Great stuff Link to comment
Lowndes
Scrubbing with scotch-brite green potscrubber with any of the above cleaners works very well. When you get them clean, keeping them clean AND protected from O2 (ozone) and UV is important, too. Especially on tires that sit for long periods (trailers, campers, etc). Kitchen floor "wax" liquid (Mop-N-Glo) applied with a sponge or soft cloth (2 coats) works well and is cheap. There are several spray-on cleaners/protectors for car tires that work very well on DRY tires, available at wally world and every auto parts place. Spray it on (white foam - makes it look like gangsta wheels!!) and let it dry. Dunno how it cleans so well. Link to comment
