Hey folks:

I completed an install of the Innov K1 system on my 2014 R1200RT. Pics are here:

Firstly, I had to install a shelf:

And drill some holes for the RAM mounts and the K1 camera. The GPS/speaker unit (not waterproof!!) got mounted with adhesive. The K1 comes with a bunch of adhesive wire guides so keep some isopropyl alcohol around to clean surfaces. Not exactly inconspicuous, but hopefully wires and screws scare away thieves.

Here are the rest of the pics.

The worst part of the install are the three wires from the front of the bike that eventually need to get to the DVR and get tucked in the side.

I also had to install a Touratech CAN Bus output helper under the rear seat. (Basically a fused relay but somehow communicates with the CAN Bus to convince it to give it power.) It’s nice that I still have some outlets for more accessories.

You do have space if you remove a panel to tuck the DVR under the rear rack.

If you’ve read this far, the footage seems fine. I haven’t compared it to a helmet mounted GoPro yet, but once I have a nice ride on a road I’m familiar with, I’ll post that. So far, it seems to be working well and is recording on every ride with no fuss or muss. It’s really nice not having to deal with the GoPro download, erase, and charge cycle.
