John Ranalletta
Trying to do brake bleed. While removing grub screw, bit (which seems like a good fit) partially rounded out hole. Grub screw metal seemed to have same consistency as silly putty. Any/all suggestions welcomed. TIA Link to comment

If you really need to get the screw out then the smart thing to do is just remove the caliper then take it to a local machine shop & have them remove it. (they do this for a living) Your other options are to just bleed it at the brake hose attachment then pry the caliper pistons all the way out a few times & re-bleed it again (maybe do this a few times) Or remove the caliper, then dump the fluid out, then re-fill with fresh fluid, then re-install & bleed at the hose attachment. That grub screw can be a real pain to remove once the inside strips out. Will probably take some heat & a custom ground slightly larger driver to get it out (or again, the safe way is to take to a local machine shop) Link to comment
John Ranalletta
Thanks, D.R. I figured as much. Likely a used caliper from Beemerboneyard ($95) will be less than a machine shop will charge. Thanks, again. Link to comment
