I held my hand up as he was humming by and for a second, I thought he was going to land on my hand, but didn’t. Yup, this one was doing the same thing, we opened all the doors but he wouldn’t come off the ceiling enough to see the four big openings. He eventually did when he wasn’t being watched. lkraus Posted June 3 Share Posted June 3 We have several hummingbird feeders and three or four get "trapped" in the garage every year. They just don't seem to look down and skitter along the ceiling for hours. With a 12ft ceiling and 8 ft doors, there is a lot of space for them get lost in, resting occasionally on door tracks, a suspended ladder, and tall shelves. Leaving the doors open and waiting is usually the best solution. Sometimes, I cover the windows with cardboard and close all but one door and then they will fly toward the light and out. If they are really tired, I have also encouraged them to land on our ceiling duster and can then carry them outside. One got its beak caught between the molding around the attic access hole and the drywall, he was just hanging there by his beak. I was able to reach him with a ladder and save him. One exhausted himself so thoroughly I saw him flutter to the floor - I moved him outside and he recovered. We have also found a couple that we did not know about which died of exhaustion or starvation. 1 Link to comment

We took this route to the top. Very pleasant ride but likely a headache for daily commuters into Jackson. 2 Link to comment

It has a PX-9 under the hood, sporting 360 hp and 1,150 lb/ft of torque at 1,200 rpms. That KW is pretty cool looking. It gets 12mpg, which is mighty dang good. The only drawback, I see, is there sho is a lot of tupperware to remove for a PM. A blown tire will damage quite a bit, too. 1 1 Link to comment

Wife and I went up to Mayberry Mini Trucks and test drove a few, but they didn't have any dumps in stock. The guy that owns it is big with wounded warriors. 3 signatures from Medal of Honor recipients. He just built a BIG house on the water here. Used to race flat track race with Dale Walksler. IDK Went to his house and he showed me his collection. The pics I posted was not even a 1/4 of his collection. Also mentioned he has known Mike Wolf long before he had 2 nickels to rub together. Rougarou Posted June 14 Share Posted June 14 Whoa, a ford!!!! So that makes a biiiig difference. Willy's couldn't keep up production for the amount of Jeeps that were needed so Ford was contracted. Stipulation was that the vehicles had to be identical. Problem was, Ford slipped some Ford script stuff in their production line. So the story's go. That narrows it down to an earlier Jeep, should be a MB. That's awesome,.....tell him to put "give the jeep to rougarou" in his will. I keep picturing in my mind, that when the RT finally dies, I'ma get a picture of me shooting it, similar to Bill Mauldin's drawing of a soldier shooting his Jeep, putting it out of its misery after being the vehicle that won WWII 2 Link to comment

taylor1 Posted June 14 Share Posted June 14 A small town about 10 miles north of where I grew up, Butler P.A. is the birthplace for Willys. There was a production plant by the train tracks which turned into producing jeeps. It didn't take long for the big boys to take over and move the plant. Every summer Butler has a jeep celebration and thousands of jeepers show up from all over the country. They shut down main street for jeeps only. Pretty cool to see. 4 Link to comment

It holds 400 gallons diesel, but we did not fuel it up as there is only enough to move it.
